Doryopteris cordata (Antler Fern/Antenna Fern)

This unusual looking fern is called Doryopteris cordata or commonly called the 'Antenna or Antler' fern' in reference to its interesting fronds that stand high above the foliage. The lower leaves are green and leathery and lobed resemble but the tall fertile leaves look much more 'fern like' which sit 15cm above the plant on long thin stems. These ferns are perfect additions to terrariums. Native to tropical parts of eastern Asia.

RATING- Moderate

LOVES- A semi-shady position away from direct sunlight which will scorch the leaves. Really benefits form high humidity so mist frequently.

HATES- Under or over watering. Keep the soil moist at all times but not soggy. Enjoys being watered from below. Fertilise once a month in the growing season to boost growth. Avoid cold drafts

Toxicity- Non toxic to humans and pets
