Nigella Hispanica Seed Heads Dried
Dried Nigella Hispanica Seed Heads
While standard Nigella pods are round and cute, Nigella hispanica (Spanish Love-in-a-mist) is bold, structural, and eccentric. The seed pods are larger and topped with spreading, star-shaped "horns" that look exactly like a medieval Jester's Hat.
These stems are the ultimate conversation starter in a dried arrangement. The pods dry to a beautiful natural mix of pale green and straw-gold, often with striking burgundy stripes running up the sides. Whether you use them to add "spikiness" to a wreath or height to a vase, they bring a unique, architectural quality that you just don't get with ordinary flowers.

🌿 About these Pods
These are the seed capsules of Nigella hispanica. We harvest them in late summer once the unique "crown" shape has fully formed. They are air-dried naturally to preserve their rigidity and subtle colour markings.
The Star View: Look at them from above! The spreading styles create a perfect five-pointed star shape, making them incredible for flat-lay photography or wreath work.
🎨 Styling Ideas
These architectural stems work best where their shape can be seen:
- Wreaths: The "horns" stick out beautifully from moss or foliage wreaths, adding texture that breaks up the round outline.
- Minimalist Vases: Place 5-7 stems in a narrow-necked bottle. The complex shape needs very little accompaniment to look good.
- Christmas Decor: The star shape makes them perfect for festive styling. Spray them silver or gold and tuck them into your Christmas tree branches.
