Time spent as a colourist of Antiquarian prints taught Jackie about the subtleties of light and tone and her aim is to communicate the essence of an atmosphere, which evokes stillness and silence.  She studied English at university and literature has consequently been a constant inspiration for her painting. Places and sensibilities are also major influences.  She paints: interiors; fading flowers and abstract landscapes.
